He keeps talking about the "top 40" as if the majority of listeners take their music cues directly from the "top 40." I don't think he is capable of listening any deeper than the surface. Certainly, his songwriting hasn't pierced too deep either.

How did it change music? Their songs were pretty standard for the time and they really didn't have much vocal prowess like the beach boys or other groups with more musical talent.
Elvis Presley came before the Beetles did. He kind of did a lot more for music with charisma, personality and style and amazing vocal prowess.

    Uhhh yes.

And on top of that, any good and genuine progress in music sees its inventor die before they can be recognized as the original. Like hank william senior, the actual inventor of rock and roll.

It's extremely fragmented now. I couldn't name four songs in the Top Forty if you put a gun to my head.

Listen to Rubber Soul, and compare it to all of the music that came out before it. Revolver turned the change up to "11". Paul McCartney is a great vocalist, by the way. He can sing ballads and rockers with the best of them, *and*, unlike your idol, he wrote his own songs.

Hank Williams? Chuck Berry's ghost might beg to differ.

Hank Williams is usually credited with making country western a viable radio genre.

More than that, Hank Williams' died in the backseat of a car of drugs at 29. He belongs to that small category of chemically induced geniuses who seemed to be always drunk or high and were able to produce far more great works than their more sober contemporaries. He did so much in so little time. More so than any singer/songwriter I can think of.

Since at least 90% (I`m being very generous with that number) of the human population is downright mentally retarded and lucky to be able to walk a straight line while breathing simultanously, ofc only the most washed down and primitive forms of music (if you can even call it that anymore) appeals to them, no conditioning needed. Play the same Pop and Hip Hop trash to an at least somewhat normally functioning human being on repeat and he`ll most probably gets depressed and potentionally suicidal.

His age, at death, still shocks me. Buddy Holly was that phenomenon on steroids! They weren't in the feared 27 Club, though. Evidently, it helps if your first name and/or last name doesn't start with "J".

Beatles answered to the demand that was why they were successful, the managers knew what music people would like. Beatles were not that bad also not that great as well, discoverying John Lennon is the greatest achievement of Beatles. Most people are brainwashed because they are easily bribed and catered. Good artists do not care about how they will be received, continue writing their own way, you can not deny there are some good musicians out there as well many bad ones too. Bad musicians will get more accolades than what they really deserve, that is one easy way to detect bad ones I want to teach you about pop, as the Rule number one. On the other hand, bad ones also can be less productive. Bowie wrote 400+ songs, but I will not say he was spewing bad products, rather on the contrary, there are some bad artists I would not name which rarely turn out new songs over the years because good artists have a powerful drive to compose; Rule number two: Unprolific musicians by 80% chance are also less talented. These aare the standard for the past generations not current because under the convenience of AI I am afraid bad artists can pass off as good, so I almost do not accept new generations of musicians. AI is the death of art, Deux ex Machina turned into Mors ex Machina, because AI is found on the breaches of human privacies and rights(AI develops from spying on and killing people). The musical industry is inevitably deteriorating, there are more to discover from the past then now and future, in which way one young listener might favor some silence of ones own generations.
