And the next hockey doc I see might be Broad Street Bullies. From what little I know about hockey, the 70s Flyers are my favorite team.
The Flyers were the first team to have an assistant coach and use a system. Before Fred Shero used a system for his team, coaches would just roll out lines.

The guy in my avatar (Bill "Goldie" Goldthorpe) is the inspiration for Ogie Oglethorpe in the film Slap Shot.

Thank you for that bit of lore, Colonel.

I'm full of hockey lore from every era except from 2005 to now cuz hockey became less interesting.

This will make you laugh. Scott Gomez tells the best stories. Even if you're not familair with the people he's speaking of (Claude Lemieux, Pat Burns, etc.) the stories are still hilarious.

    Just finished 'The Chiefs' documentary.

My favorite person was the Chiefs super fan who shines his belt.

    And I love Quebec.

    Thoroughly enjoyed it actually.

And it definitely made me giggle.

Favorite characters were Lemieux and the Hansons. But lots of great characters like Dunlop and the team bus driver and Tim "Dr. Hook" McCracken.

The guy who plays Lemieux was an actual goaltender. So was the backup goalie for the team in the film.

All the Hanson brothers were actual players. It's based on the Carlson brothers who played on the same team. Jack Carlson was called up to play in the WHA (a rival league to the NHL during most of the 70s) and so Dave Hanson was was asked to play Jack's role.

The guy who pissed himself and the guy who fought 'Killer' Carlson were also players. The blond guy always checking himself out in the mirror was also a player.

The goons brought in for the final game were all former players. Except for the guy who played Oglethorpe (who was also a player and the screenwriter's brother) they were all brawlers. The guy who played the Indian was suspended for life from the EHL.
