The beautiful railway of Kalavrita - Diakofto

This is a very scenic and beautiful cogwheel railway line built from 1890 to 1895, between the coastal village of Diakofto and the mountain resort of Kalavryta in Achaea, in the Peloponnese.

It's an engineering marvel, considering it was carved mainly through a deep gorge and with a lot of tunnels, with the main feat being the extremely steep gradients with a slope of over 17%.
