There is no reality that Georgian/Pontian Music is classified as "Greek".

No one mentioned pontics in this thread other than you.

Also, resorting to children playground insults, 'spastic', haha, what's next, are you gonna cry to your mommy to tell me off, wog-boy?

PS. Their village "Γυφτόκαμπος" = translation "The Valley of the Gypsies", you can't make this sheit up.

All you see in Greek villages are Cro Magnons not Indids from Pontus

Because I watched it a few days ago...

I think the point that he's trying to get across is the following:

Greek music doesn't sound like it has oriental influences, because it is already Oriental itself.

I think what he's trying to say is that geographically speaking, it's more correct to say that Greek music is more inclined towards the Orient. Because Greeks, historically speaking were mainly inclined to expand towards the East. And doing so, the Greeks came into contact with the culture of the peoples they conquered or at least inhabited along.

But saying it's similar to Middle Eastern music, while it is distinct itself is idiotic. It's not similar to Western music either.

It's something of its own. It mostly inherited Byzantine tones, which are anything but similar to either the West or the East. It has rather influenced both in retrospect.

    Bravo!

I thought, more or less, the same.

    Well, that's what I gathered.

In terms of music, we are our own thing. The end. Whether it's Middle Easterners that are trying to claim it, or Westerners, it's idiotic. Because you can't classify it to either. It's more correct to say it has given influences to both.
