Question "Racial Anthropology Literature. Which authors are your favorite ones?"

it has been a long time, but —

to the best of my recollection richard eichenauer
was only briefly mentioned in musicology class. never in an anthropology course.

is there a physical anthropology text by him?

I'm far from having read all the authors I mentioned but since then I've also read some whom I didn't cite (like Vallois) and one of the reasons I made this thread was to know which ones were worth it. Though most were anthropologists I also included some that dealt with racial theory but not anthropology itself, e.g. Rosenberg. I believe they should had been kept for another thread.

Thumbs up in contrast, we have a harvard man — a physical anthropologist:

stanley garn was a student of earnest hooton
and co-author with carleton coon and joseph birdsell

professor garn published over eight-hundred articles
on physical anthropology beyond skull-metrics and pigmentation.

his one book on human taxonomy
presents a greater depth/breadth of the differentiation
of land-breeds speciated by geographical/cultural isolation
than other authors. click-on the image and learn.

Guy includes freakin Alfred Rosenberg in the list, but doesn't include Earnest Hooton.

    LOL.

    LOL.
I did ask which authors others have read and never claimed my list was comprehensive. No need to be edgy.

Thumbs up regarding an other of the non-anthropologists on the list:

friedrich merkenschlager deserves a place on you book-shelf

because his devastating critique of hans günther's concepts
was considered so vitiating by nazis
that he was removed from his post as regierungsrat at the biologische reichsanstalt.

    his many public lectures, articles,
and the two books he co-wrote with karl saller

eventually resulted in being sent to the dachau prison camp
    to prevent further impeachment
of reichsleiter ricardo darré's racial-terroir ideology.

for an educated and rational criticism of hans günther's ideas:

    Götter, Helden und Günther.
    Eine Abwehr der Güntherschen Rassenkunde

    Rajjenfonderung Rafjenmijhung Rafjjenwandlung

Wanderungen zu den Mdlern am Wege der deutschen Rasse

Vineta — eine deutsche Biologie, von Osten her geschrieben

Any examples of things he said that the Nazis didn't like?

    Thumbs up kortskaller og langskaller

this author was not on your list, but,
    his book is both entertaining
    and educational:

this volume frames the topic of human taxonomy
    while introducing the main characters
    and their motivations.

Thumbs up the last book added to the recommended reading list of...

...the past master of on-line pheno-typical classification

    Zitat:

    Zitat von Agrippa

Christian Vogel, Menschliche Stammesgeschichte - Populationsdifferenzierung, in Biologie in Stichworten, V Humanbiologie, Kiel 1974.
