One of my uncles is married to a Thai lady (Buddhist). Nobody was at all shocked or scandalised. Hell, you go to their restaurant's website, you have their youtube channel, where she's drinking wine while making some Thai dish.
I know of a Bengali family that has a black - Caribbean - son-in-law, Canadian family, ultra liberal.
Generally,. it's how you rate the "civilisation" that passes down to the individual. And no matter how much people bitch about "colonialism", at the end of the day, Britain get's respect for the staggering vastness of its former empire. America get's respect for tech and the ubiquity of its junk around the world.
The French ... well, educated people do rate them still.
As a child, most of the adults I knew, spoke highly of GERMANY's ability to resurrect itself after 2 world wars, and to be able to conduct back-to-back world wars. I guess most Muslims have a softspot for Nazi Germany.
Essentially, nothing positive attaches to black people, while an awful lot of negatives are found in personal experience with them or in the news.
I know a shit load of racist desis, all turned virulently anti-black, through years of school bullying in London.
I grew up in a largely English town, up north, so grew up liberal and was shocked to hear them talk, when I came down to London...

Indians rarely marry outside to other cultures at all, even scrutiny marrying outside other castes even in the UK.
All the Indians I have met nonetheless have been very fine people and have been successful everywhere they have established themselves.
