Just as an aside: In this list I created, the Germany-Poland gap is only ranked 19th. At least in terms of economics and social wellbeing, nowadays the main divide in Europe is no longer Western versus Eastern Europe, but EU-members versus non-EU members.

The overlap between Germans and Poles is mostly because some Germans look wholly or partly Slavic, not the other way round.

Yes we do. But you shouldn’t underestimate the “mixed” (Slavic Germanic) ones. I think they are majority when it comes to phenotypes

I am talking about stereotypes here, not about facts. When you show a stereotypically Slavic looking person to a Pole most of them would associate the looks with Russian and not with Polish. That doesn’t mean that all Russians look eastern. Actually in reality most Russians are even hard to tell apart from other Europeans

Agree and certain Russians who are mixed with some north Asian minorities.

Central and Southern Russians are the most Balto-Slavic people in Europe. Or are you talking about 1-3% of Siberians in the DNA of central Russians? This is a very ancient admixture that has nothing to do with the modern small peoples of Russia.

Russians are similar to the ancestors of the Slavs without significant influence of foreign impurities. There are no other similar Europeans. Neither the Balkan Slavs, nor the Poles, nor even the Ukrainians come close to that first Slavic appearance of our common ancestors.
