This is great news. France has terribly exploited its African colonies (ex-colonies now, Francophone West Africa). It's no wonder that they are rebelling against this.

France can now buy uranium from Russia

Lol, don't believe in wokist/leftist revisionism. African colonies were a financial burden for France. It costed more than what it make money.

I'm not surprised that the people in Niger are totally fed-up, angry, and are fighting back.

One-third of French homes and even the Eiffel Tower are powered by nuclear power plants that depend on uranium from Niger.

Niger has a vast amount of uranium, yet they're being exploited.

80% of people in Niger do not have access to any electricity, and 80% live on less than $2 a day.

The new authorities in Niger have now suspended uranium AND gold exports to France.

3,2,1... a full blown meltdown is coming from the EU.

Good news for Canada - one of the world's largest suppliers of uranium. And for the U.S. Another one that probably stands to benefit is Kazakhstan - where Russia has been steadily losing influence in favour of China.

Countries need enough uranium for their own needs first. The further the distance, the higher the shipping costs are to import it - which in turn affects electricity prices.

Also the French aren't going to be able to exploit other nations workers for slave labour and take vast amounts of uranium from them so cheaply, (Canadians would also be furious if 80% of their population were forced to live without electricity and live on $2 per day,) and the EU's days of taking the piss and exploiting people in Niger are now over.

Kazachstan and Canada will take over that market.
