i think few are White because most have non white majorities in their makeup unless we use Coon's definition of white which is anyone who belongs to the mediterranean race and even Hamites, Egyptians etc. Circassians might be the only white group here as i have heard they are quite light skinned.

Well first can we please define 'white', please ? If the English are the benchmark it is easier to proceed but the American FBI includes north Africans, Arabs and Hispanics as 'white'.

All are more or less, for being overwhelmingly Caucasian, although some of them are a little dark and the Turkic groups have some Turanid mixed types.

Asking whether Turks are considered as White or not is exactly like asking if South Americans are considered as White. We are a diverse nation, both genetically and culturally. A Turk might cluster with Southern Europeans, Caucasians, Iranians, Eastern Europeans, and even Eastern Africans (see Afro-Turks).

White is not very much in use in Europe neither as a term nor as a concept. Europe broadly goes with:

- Western and Eastern Euros (for example Greeks are usually considered Western because they lacked Communism recently and were part of the "free" world while quite all ex-communist countries are considered Eastern Euro; except for anthro forums, Balkans are considered Eastern Euro and usually don't include Greece);
- Northern and Southern Euros (a Swede would be both Western and Northern, an Italian would be both Western and Southern etc);

about Turks etc in the poll: a Romanian can see and feel a lot of cultural similarities with Turks that he doesn't feel with Italians or Dutch for example. so it's complicated to fit it all to a "White" vs "non-White" concept. if Brits consider themselves as the measure for "White" in looks and culture, then for example Romanians partially overlap the looks (as most European countries will have a certain overlap one to another, more than what's considered on these forums where only ideal looks and stereotypes are considered) and don't overlap the culture.

so I'd say the poll can only be answered by those who operate with such terms, as "White", as Americans and maybe Brits

Why should the English necessarily be the "benchmark" of whiteness?

I consider White to mean West Eurasian so both Europeans and MENAs are included. They cluster fairly close together. Other groups including South Asians are notably more distant from Europeans.
