I would say that every song that gives me chills or makes me cry is a masterpiece/

I have recently got hold of David Gilmour Live at Pompeii CD Metallica - Metallica CD

It's good to listen to these songs with CD quality, it's so much better than yewtube

So Metallica Unforgiven and David Gilmour Live at Pompeii High Hopes WOW these songs always give me chills

Yesterday I drank 4 bottles of beer and cried to the David Gilmour guitar solo... AMAZING

David Gilmour is not metal music, he's the guy from Pink Floyd.
That song High Hopes (Live at Pompeii) builds up and the the epicness starts during 2nd chorus, after 2nd chorus there's that masterpiece electric guitar solo and end of the song is acoustic guitar solo with a piano, it's unbelieveable, I wish I've seen this live, truly masterpiece. Always gets me. <3

CD quality means very little in the modern era and hasn't for 20+ years. It has more to do with the mastering process limiting the range of frequencies, the dynamic range and lower noise. Add to that compression for different formats.

I've played that Live at Pompeii CD yesterday for first time and I got stuck at song no 6 High Hopes, been listening to it over and over again, amazing, I can't believe how good this is.

The album "Bat out of Hell" is a classic with a ruined master. It will forever be listenable but never have the ability to be remastered to a higher level. I believe drugs and alcohol were to blame during the recording process...
