Russia now managed to open up a real can of worms: with Israel, Turkey and America each seeing themselves justified in removing the Russian presence from Syria as more than justified. And when the time is there, they will.. And there is nothing the Russians can do about it. Ukrainian pilots are currently being trained on the F16, the Gripen and the Rafale. The moment they are done, they will receive those planes. Each of them are better than anything in Russia's arsenal. And no, the famed PAK-FA barely exists, and even the Indians turned it down.

Russia's famed weapons export has collapsed and with that Russia will receive less foreign currency. Why is that problem ? Most R&D doesn't take place in Russia. When it comes to tech, Russia is at least 30 years behind the West.

The West also vastly outproduces Russia, and Russia's economy is already geared for war: this is the best they can do. The West is not even in it for 1%. And China is not going to really help them, because China doesn't want to lose its number 1 market. Why ? Because of the post-1989 social contract between the CCP and the Chinese people: for as long as the CCP provides economic growth, there will be no questioning of their political legitimacy inside China. But when they don't? They are screwed. Like all dynasties before them.

Russia is just an institutionally weak, corrupt af banana republic with imperialist delusions of grandeur, a strong propaganda apparatus and rusted nukes and an even more rusted military that you put your trust in, because their propaganda channels tell you what you want to hear and because you don't want to understand that the enemy of our enemy is not our friend. They have been at this gig for a long time, ask Yuri Bezmenov. Ooh no, wait! They killed him for speaking the cold, hard truth about both East and West.
