Economic Motivations for Armed Conflict

Lenin branded Kautsky and Hilferding as ‘ex-Marxists’ who renounced the revolutionary principles of Marxism. This is because they believed that a peaceful stage of capitalism could emerge.

Lenin depicted ultra-imperialism as ‘ultra-nonsense’ ([1916]1966, 87) and asserted that there could be no peace among the imperialist powers but only a truce between periods of wars ([1916]1966, 111).

After 80 years of truce between major world powers, we can check the exactitude of past theories on economy and war. Can there be a peaceful stage of capitalist development? the answer is no. What is peace after all? If your country is fighting and killing people outside as long as the conflict does not reach home, this is not peace. We can have a clear alternative view of imperialism: domestic peace, but bringing death and war abroad and keeping them off the border and their capitalist peace. Imperial economy is thus formed, so is its peace. If to think the peace between empires as the true peace, now this is the high time to reconsider what is peace: Russia VS the West, China VS Japan.

There is no such thing as peaceful capitalism, Lenin was right. Imperialism is exporting war and chaos, while importing wealth and peace. Therefore using my perspective we can see, why Japan will eventually rearm themself for war, their economy is dependent on the imperial legacy of the USA, when the american imperialism faces challenge, Japan have to stand up for the US. Sounds banal but true.

It will be truly banal if I say China is the justified challenger of the american imperialism and chinese economic boom is based on true peace. Come on, chinese economy is a part of the global western imperialism too, like Japan, largely dependent on the USA. The difference is that China only started to develop its globalist economy since 1999, as they joined WTO since around that time. But before that time China was in utter Red Terror, remember 1989, June, 4th. Russia knew it, democracy and peace will not develop a sheet. It is naturally, China would also have learned the secret of imperialism during these 20 years of "peace", this surely will get Japan wary. The newly graduating imperialists are real and big, just tasted the blood, and Japan have nothing to lose actually, since their survival is almost collimated against the mould of capitalist economy.

Capitalo-communist cconomy, not only eats away nature and environment, but also many human lives in many ways. However, in the agony of disparity and false peace and enforced ignorance, poor people will have to procreate like cattles. This world is always a dual reality between constant war and local/exclusive peace, maybe imperialism is just a wisdom to serve the given rule of the world. We should learn to face this reality better and better not just keep blaming the others.
