It's just typical American ethnic misrepresentation. The vast majority of ancestors of 'Scots-Irish' were Scottish/British origin, that is obvious in their surnames, religious leanings, as well as the migration records. They even spoke separate languages in the 1700s. And to say there is no genetic distinction between Northern British and Irish is not true either, it's relatively small but it's there and even exists in ancestrydna tests.
