Which island in Greece you recommend?

Which island do you guys recommend for spending 6 days in October? I want to experience authentic Mediterranean atmosphere, blue sea, healthy food, friendly people. I was thinking about Crete, but seems 6 days is not enough, it's too big. Could you give me advise for a small beautiful island, where it still will be warm in October.

Of the smaller islands I'd think about Corfu (Kerkyra), but I dunno how's it in October.

never been to Greece but if I visit I would go to Corfu. might be a bit too northern for October - check weather there
