Due to isolation this part of Georgia is very different from other Caucasians. The culture, architecture, lifestyle, for example there is no Lezginka/Caucasian style dances in Imereti like we have in Eastern Georgia, or in mountains.

Climate in west Georgia is very rainy, the rainiest in whole former USSR and maybe in whole Europe. But i don't think this is the main reason of paleness, rather isolation.

Looks like Crimea has the nice Mediterranean climate. I'm from here and we have very strange unpredictable climate, you can experience summer in winter, and winter in summer. But lush forests and greenery compensate ugly climate.
