Where was Gall Anonim from?

Where do you think he was from? Do you think he is from the territory of current France or Belgium? What would be your arguments?

First of all, to clarify who was Gall Anonim. He was author of oldest Polish chronicle made in XII century

This is big mistery where is he from. There are many hypotheses basing on his writing style, facts of life and so on but there is no definite answer. Regarding arguments we would have to study his Latin original script, it was made by manny scholars and still there are many theories. I guess we will never find out

Tbh does it really matter where was he from? This is still kind of useless data. More important is that he was well educated, came to Poland and made the chronicle more than where he actually came from
