Most Brazilians don't know that Confederates immigrated to Americana and Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, as they weren't as numerous as other nationalities, i.e. Germans, Italians, Poles, Lebanese, Japanese, etc.

Confederate symbols don't have the stigma they do in the US as Brazilians don't really know much about the American Civil War, though some news media sources, including foreign ones, are trying to introduce their views imported from American universities to the country.
