Although most people are aware that the huge Irish influx into Liverpool in the mid 19C changed the accent, they may not know that many, many people from North Wales moved to Liverpool in the 1800s also.
Scouse is a blend of Lancashire/Irish/North Welsh accents

I've often thought that some of the Northern Welsh accents a bit sound similar to Cheshire/Mancunian/Liverpudlian in parts, and some of the Southern Welsh accents sound similar in parts to south-west English "West Country" accents, such as Gloucestershire and Cornish accents... but with a unique Welsh twist.

I called a UK company helpline once, and the centre was located in Wales... and an extremely friendly and helpful Welsh guy answered the line. He kept slightly pausing between words and was talking slowly as a lot of Welsh people tend to do.
