    Default How much more common is light blonde hair in Britain than in France?

    I think one of the things that distinguishes Britain from France is the frequency of light blonde hair, while blonde hair is common in northern and to an extent in central France it is much more often a darker or mixed shade of blonde. In the UK i would estimate the occurance of light blonde hair to be about 7% maybe as high as 10% in some eastern regions.

    This is what i mean by light blonde

    You severely underestimate blonde hair among the British. In London, 20-30% of (native) men I saw were blonde by any measurement, 80% by Romanian standards In France it's 5-15% (always golden blonde) among youth

    My hair is normally light brown but can photobleach to dark blond in the summer if I get enough sun exposure. I think this is fairly typical for light brown.

    I'm curious how Romanian standards differ.

    I wouldn't really call your example light blond at all. Although we all see differently and are perfectly entitled to our own opinions. For Britain and the rest of Northern Europe, light blonds are pretty light. I have some good examples ;
    Will Hughes ( England )

    Boris Johnson ( England )

    This light blond colour doesn't amount to any significant percentage in Britain, not due to the presence of darker or brown hair, rather due to the excess of red and reddish hair. So allow me to broaden the category a little bit. The category is from the lightest to medium blonde hair, it amounts to the following estimates :
    Belgium = 9%
    France = 8%
    Sweden = 23%
    The Netherlands = 20%
    United Kingdom = 14%

    Will Hughes would probably be A or B on the Fischer-Saller scale. So white-blond or very light blond. E which is the darkest light blond is definitely darker.

    What would you consider to be just light enough to be light vs golden or medium blond?
