Default Lachin Corridor: Why does Russia allow Azerbaijan to block the road?

I don't understand this. People in Stepanakert are starving of basic food stuffs and medicine already. I realise that there's this ongoing disagreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and that Azerbaijan has legitimate concerns. But isn't this pushing things too far?

If this situation continues, then the West will probably become involved, and Russian influence diminish in the region. Yes I know the Armenian president is an ass, and hasn't been particularly pro-Russian. This is a complicated situation.

    Any ideas?

We recognize Qarabaq as territory of Azerbaijan (Just like Armenia does not recgonize it as part of Armenia). In 2021 Pashinyan's crew probably thought that Russia would sacrifice everything for the territory where he himself escalated shit (just like Saakashvili in Georgia 2008 hoping for Yank help).

Shit happens, actually Azerbaijan is very important partner for Russia, it can be way more useful for us in combined interests with Turks, while Armenia is a poor piece of landlocked land which exists on map only because two military bases of Russia are placed there.

Question "But isn't this pushing things too far?" — for how many generation can hatred continue

the blockade of that city did not begin with the violence of 1988.

    perhaps,
even before the enthusiastic participation of azerbaijani mohammedeans
in the genocide of armenian christians.

It is Azeri territory, why would they be obliged to open it to an other country (Armenia)?

They rejected all the trucks with food/medicine Azeri government has sent till now. If they are that stuborn, they'll starve.

I'm not so sure about that.. Armenia may be a small country, but it has a huge and influential diaspora in the West -- and many of them are wealthy, and have been an important pro-Russian voice in an otherwise Russia-hating West. I've personally met many Armenians in the UK, and they were always certain that Russia would not abandon them -- they are looking up to Russia (in contrast with the idiotic Pashinyan in Armenia). Such an attitude from Russia would not be a good look in the West. You may not care about Western opinions in general, but the Armenian diaspora are an important pro-Russian voice there (UK, US, France).

Russia doesn't care about anything other than Russia's interest nor do they care about the world's perception of their geopolitical measures.

Around 200k of Russians live in Azerbaijan, being the biggest Russian diaspora in the region, they never had problems and don't have now, there are Russian schools, cultural centers, libraries and theaters, Russian Orthodox Church feels free there with numerous churches, not just Russians, but lots of urban Azeri converts are members of it.

While in Armenia Russian Orthodox Church was always an object of oppression by the state as "rival" of Armenian Monophisits.

Interesting. I also read a bit further, and it really seems that all of this is the result of the anti-Russian, pro-Western policies of Pashinyan, who is trying to get Armenia to join NATO and leave the CSTO. I guess not much Russia can do if idiots like him or Saakashvili, Zelensky are in charge. It's a pity.

That's it. Being heavily anti Russian from Soros crew they did everything worst to waste Qarabag and now Russians are supposed to be bigger Armenians than Armenians themselves, for own bad becoming worse with Azeris. That's absurd. If the peacemaking troops were not taken to Qarabag, now it will be free of Armenians 100%. Armenians should make more on diplomatical front together with their Western friends like France and USA, how come they suppose Russia to manage everything for those who spit on Russia.
