Depends who you're mixing with.
Generally speaking people have always been mixing with one another.
It is of course good to preserve one own's heritage and respect your ancestors, but when it's between ethnic groups that are not very far from one another genetically (e.g, Spanish and Sardinians, Poles and Swedes, or Greeks and Albanians etc.) I doubt one could see any problem.

It's neutral, surely better than inbreeding in some Alabama style or marrying own cousins like some Muslims do. There are villages in Dagestan which have boom of genetic caused ilnesses, because they're literally relatives to each other. It's considered to be bad to marry unknown people from other villages, instead it marrying from own. The level of inbreeding in highland populations of Dagestan is very high, being second only to the world maximum of first cousins on the Fiji Islands.

Chechens are the opposite, they avoid close marriages having some complicated system for it.

As far as I know, it is taboo for a Circassian person to marry a relative.
