Absolutely nice with the NVA outfit and traditions.
I just wonder why the old helmet was not used, as there was nothing wrong with that as also current derivates in the US show. The new helmet was developed in 1944 for the Wehrmacht but Hitler rejected it as it didn't look good and I much agree to that.

This is not only a problem of Germany or Bundeswehr. Militaries, politicians and other participants from that regime were spreaded worldwide.

It's very typical that, however well-trained the NVA were, they were hopelessly outclassed by the Bundeswehr in terms of training, the efficiency of the command structure, numbers and equipment. They wouldn't have stood a chance against NATO. The Red Army was even worse off: I read that by the 1980s, only half to 60 percent of their equipment was combat ready.
