Question Which sports, olympic disciplines and martial arts do you like the most?

Is there one that you didn't use to give much attention but positively surprised you once you gave it a try? Is there any you think more people should watch? You may include esports.

Well, as a good Latin American I like soccer. I'm not that used to watching the Olympics that much but I think my favorite Olympic sports are modern pentathlon, figure skating, maybe gymnastics.

Among martial arts I have some interest on karate, aikido and hapkido because they also seem to have an artistic side like the kata.

Are american football and rugby entertaining? Should I get into them?

I refer to all as in "favourite to watch".

    most favourite:

    1. rugby (union) (world cup, six nations, ex-tri nations, domestic and continental competitions)

    2. biathlon (men's and women's, my favourite sport to watch since childhood, together with rugby)

    3. football (soccer) (men's only, I watch the world cup and euro and sometimes some local derby in my region, otherwise I rarely watch champions' league for example, I have no favourite among the big clubs, they're corporations in my opinion)

    4. handball (women's only)

    5. ice hockey (world cup, national team in its inferior league, rarely club competitions)

    6. american football (a bit too fragmented but NFL is definitely interesting to watch - I'd watch a random american football game rather than a random soccer game, soccer tends to be very boring outside world cup or local derbies, although as a sport I still like soccer overall over american football)

    other nice ones:

    7. sumo (I grew up watching Akebono, Musashimaru, Asashoryu, Takanohana)

    8. beach volleyball (women's only )

    9. rowing / kayak / canoe

    10. tennis (women's mostly, grand slams if my favourite players play, otherwise not much interested, I overall rarely watch it, maybe 3-4 matches a year)

    11. curling (I rarely get to watch it, once every couple of years, but I still like it better than the sports that you don't see listed on here and I never watch)

Great list! As for curling, I've watched some matches during Winter Olympics and I quite liked it, in truth for some reason I think it's a very funny sport because it made me laugh for random reasons.

yeah, they're equipped like they're the school janitors having fun on the school hallway when no one's around, with those coveralls and the little push brooms, and usually they're in that age range and looks as well. I wuv it

I shared a flight with the Romanian Rugby Union Team when I was travelling to Europe- flying into Vienna in late September 2008.
They had just played against and been defeated by New Zealand All blacks the day before.

Interestingly they had a Polynesian player on their Team iirc he said he was from Samoa, he was heading back to Romania with them and from their he said he would be flying back to Samoa.

There was quite a few swarthy looking players amongst them, at the time I thought some those guys were probably Roma but Im not expert about Roma looks its possible they could have been native Romanians.

I miss the old days when Taekwondo was cool circa like 1988 before Judo took over. Taekwondo is the true Vlach arts.
