The proposal is indeed really objectionable, but the USA (along with the UK) is the last country to have any right to lecture others on respecting national sovereignty.

Interesting how on one side you criticize US so much, and despise Hispanics that live in there, but now in this case you side with them against Venezuela, when those lands were illegitimately stolen from Venezuela by the British.

I wouldn't be susprised if the US closed their eyes to this situation after having eased their sanctions on Venezuela, including on oil.

Which using that argument, other countries besides the US itself have the right to practice. (No I am not justifying this proposal, much less any potential invasion that may result from it. Just pointing out the double standards).

Yes of course. My point is it would be very hypocritical for the US of all countries to criticise a country for invading its neighbour, when they act largely as they please.

Because they rule the world: they act or cease to based on their interests and because they can. They don't give a fuck about hypocrisy.

Granted. But why do you call upon the US to prevent Venezuela from doing the same thing the US itself does over and over again?

Because Venezuela is a fucking shithole... Why should anyone cede territory to that failed country? Also, if the US invades (I hope so) they'll stop exporting their criminals to South America.
