These fundamentalists use the Scofield reference Bible for their beliefs.
The Scofield Reference Bible promoted dispensationalism, the belief that between creation and the final judgment there would be seven distinct eras of God's dealing with man and that these eras are a framework for synthesizing the message of the Bible.[6] Largely through the influence of Scofield's notes, many fundamentalist Christians in the United States adopted a dispensational theology. Scofield's notes on the Book of Revelation are a major source for the various timetables, judgments, and plagues elaborated on by popular religious writers such as Hal Lindsey, Edgar C. Whisenant, and Tim LaHaye;[7] and in part because of the success of the Scofield Reference Bible, twentieth-century American fundamentalists placed greater stress on eschatological speculation.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scofield_Reference_Bible
I can imagine these people are licking their lips over the potential for a major conflict in the Middle East. It scares me knowing we have politicians in office who believe this nonsense.Dispensationalists use a literal interpretation of the Bible and believe that divine revelation unfolds throughout the Bible. They believe that there is a distinction between Israel and the Church, and that Christians are not bound by Mosaic law. They maintain beliefs in premillennialism, a future restoration of national Israel, and a rapture of the Church that will happen before the Second Coming of Christ, generally seen as happening before a period of tribulation.[4] the Second Coming of Christ, generally seen as happening before a period of tribulation.[4]

I know a fair number of extreme fundamentalists. Many of them seem to have missed the entire point of the New Testament. They seem to "know" what God's Will is for everyone and the world as a whole. Of course, they also seem to use their Free Will to turn their own lives into shambles.

The US needs non-interventionist Paganism instead of nosy interventionist Christiany.
