Yes, but the feelings were very short-lived. They just stayed friends and I no longer have any feelings for them. I've also experienced the reverse I believe, although I think some of them maybe were just being flirty and had no real valid interest tbh.

However I believe it might (not sure really) have happened in reverse for me a few times as well, where the other person liked me without seeing me or had feelings without seeing me online. However in almost every single instance it did not end well for them when they seemed to be hiding the fact they liked me online and we were originally friends......lol it ended with one person insulting me and sending me threats, them ghosting me, pressuring me to go meet them (but never the other way around ugh), and someone even stopped being friendly and nice and gave me a backhanded compliment once I shared my photo yeah I guess I wasn't good enough for them even though we were only friends....I'm used to this. Tbh though these few friends who did that were a terrible fit for me and I bet some of them realized this still they were just desperate and lonely and seemed to want to try whatever it took......especially considering some of them purposely hide their "feelings" for some time. So I think this shows that those feelings were very much fake. Unfortunately I now believe that most people online who show these feelings have a hidden motive and so if I feel that way I now unfriend them or block them as mean as it is, I don't have time for bullshit.

However I do believe that it is possible but VERY unlikely to be valid feelings. Especially if they have not seen a photo of you and are unwilling to meet you themselves. However I think if these people who never saw each other went to meet and ended up being compatible and feeling the same about each other, it would only be by chance/luck.

You can probably fall in love instantaneously if you eventually encounter that person and they have at least a relatively decent appearance, and you had that virtual chemistry before that.

But do you think you could? I for instance can develop a sympathies, but to really like someone I would need to see the photo at least, but some of friends not so much - at least they say so.
