Its not customary in Europe to ask someone totally strange on the streets about his/her salary, whereas in America its not that unusual. The reaction sure is over the top though, so it may very well be staged. On the other hand, as the interviewer suggested, it could just be your typical spoiled rich kid and those tend to be the same everywhere on the planet. Never seen an ordinary French person act out like this.

In Greece it's really weird to be asked your salary in the street by random strangers. As far as I know, such is the case all over Europe.

He had a sudden flush of anger. Got triggered. He seems to look down on poor/unsuccessful people, though. Not a good characteristic. I think many French are supposed to be the opposite of that. He must be a Parisian or something.
