Well, most if not almost all the bad things came from the Turkish side. I mean, they might be the only nation where they both have committed two awful genocides, deny they committed them and at the exact same time be proud of committing them with the "swimming to the sea" type of comments.

I belong to both people, even though less Turk genetically, I am a Turkish citizen born in Turkey, my first language is Turkish, so it makes up to it I guess. Anyways, so that I have the pass to say anything about both of them, before you start seething. Ah and, being loud and hairy is a Mediterranean thing as well, therefore, these two groups of people also fit in this stereotype.

Culture, genetics and history.
Mostly with Anatolian Greeks, not so much with peninsulars who are of Balkan extraction.
Turkish hardliners don't want to admit it but they are a heavily Byzantine offspring in an Islamic iteration.

How exactly are they Byzantines in Islamic iteration? If you mean during the Ottoman Empire's administration that they were influenced by the Byzantines, and their cuisine was also partly influenced by the Byzantines, sure, why not.
For genetics, I doubt it so even with Anatolian Greeks. Most likely with parts of them.
Also: after 1922, how many of these similarities do exist considering Kemal and his secularisation policies?
