Default How big is the inequality between regions in Turkey?

I know for a fact that the Western regions are richer than the Eastern ones, and that Istanbul (I'm going to make you the favour to not call it Constantinople out of mere respect in posting in the Turkish section) and the Marmara region are the most prosperous by a long shot.

So, what's the actual situation in regards to income and prosperity? Because I recently saw the GDP in PPP data for Turkey and they're marginally higher than that of Greece's despite the latter having much higher wages than the former? Actual prosperity or faux statistics?

Very big. Eastern Turkey is very mountainous region with low resources and very harsh climate. Very similar to armenia.

If you have experience with Istanbul, how rich is it/seems so compared to the rest of Turkey or other cities abroad?

I am not very knowledgeable about abroad.

The richest city is by far Istanbul compared to other cities in Turkey.

The areas of Istanbul close to the Bosphorus are the richest regions.

    Very stark differences here.
