What Is your favorite Latin American country and why?

My knowledge on the subject is rather patchy. If I had to pick, I'd pick maybe Cuba for the sense of solidarity its people has there as it seems to me. Something we used to have too. Also for the high medicine level.

Then there's a unique and interesting country of Paraguay which also has the descendants of Russian post-revolution immigrants. Not as unique after they lost that awful war of course.

I recently discovered it's by far the most philhellenic country in the Americas. Many landmarks in Montevideo are named after Hellenic-related stuff. Pretty cool if you ask me.

If I'm not mistaken, during the XVIII century russians Czars were dreaming about capturing Constantinople, and there was a cultural campaign started by Catherine the Great in order to rename a lot of cities and locations with greek/hellenic names ("Kerson" and "Odessa" come to my mind).

Well Anglo Americans already share this country with so many of you. So, I could pick USA for the great climate and society diversity and more moderate temperatures.

Uruguay. Have been there in July and I found really nice how educated people were there. Not a lot of trash thrown in the streets, lot of cleaness around. Also they eat a lot of barbecue and that's another hit with me.
