Default Consumption per capita in Europe

How accurate do you think these figures are?

For Greece, I think it's higher from what it actually is, because many people still hide their actual incomes, which are significantly higher than what they declare to the same tax authorities.

Good to see that Hungary is on very low level and will be poorer. I have heard many gypsy hates this economic crisis and they are going to abroad

Norwegians and icelanders are consumer zombie societies.

Do you live in Russia? I ask, because it's very strange to hear. Unluckily Russia is a country of compulsive consumers. If they're not able to buy something, they take loans. People change goods every year, I've been living in Balkans and rarely seen people getting a new phone annualy, while here it's a compulsive habit. People in Russia have cars which are not equal to their income, much more wealthy people in the West own same cars while majority drives something simple, I'm not even talking about Southern Europe.

Most of those Russians who ran away to the West often laugh that locals have mentlaity of the "poors" (in their twisted minds), that West is primitive in meaning of digitalization, there are no those countless ozon.ru, yandex market and other shit which will provide you anything in 2 am because you compulsively need it.

Same goes for food delivery and other services, Russians are obsessed with rapid purchase and delivery of everything they want no matter if it's Sunday or the middle of the night.

Lots of people drive 50k euros cars without having salaries enough to buy it in 5 years of 100% savings, in this way we're land of mistery in this case, just like Ukraine, whose "refugees" drive posh cars and spit on "poor Europeans".

The Greek one has also improved, our figures don't reflect that much of what is going on. Many as I said hide their real income.

For Romania, it really depends whether it's Bucharest or the rest of the country (minus Transylvania, which is prosperous)

Ukraine is poorer, its number on this map would be 50-60.

well that is the overall average, for the other countries it is the same mostly, the big urban centres vs the more rural areas.

but each bigger city is doing well even outside Bükreş, especially Kolozsvár, Temesvár, Brassó/Kronstadt, Nagyszeben/Hermannstadt, Jászvásár/Яссы, Szucsáva/Сучава.

while for Bükreş, and I find it quite strange, they seem to be one of the most prosperous regions in Europe, wtf (and that is 2021 data, while I understand 2023 is even improved):
    Spoiler!

same for Budapest vs Hungary, Warsaw vs Poland, Prague vs Czechia, Berlin vs East Germany, Vilnius vs Lithuania etc

Yes, I know, but the contrast between most Eastern European member-states is quite big. For your country, Bucharest is by dozens of percentage points above the EU average, while the poorest regions are dozens of percentage points lower than that.

But I agree that some data seem weird. For my country, while it is reported that Attica's regional GDP per capita surpasses that of the EU average by a lot, it's reported in the map to be in 75-100% of the average. Which is odd. But to be honest, no data have been released since 2017 for regional GDP numbers from Greece. In 2017, it was already at 29.990 euros. Or at the time 99.9% of the EU average. Now it's (by estimates always) more than 50k, which for the Attica is more than sensical, considering we have loads of suburbs where the inhabitants have a (reported, their actual is certainly much bigger) income of 150.000+ euros. And for the Aegean Islands, it's certainly higher as well, due to the tourism inflows.
