For comparison, an average trained person does the 100m in around 13 seconds.

In Belgium (my country), to be taller than 99% of other men, a man must be around 1m90
The average being between 1m75 and 1m80

There are plenty of examples and IQ is no exception to the rule, High IQ may be rare, but they are not infinitely more intelligent than the average, they are above but the difference is ridiculous and almost non-existent.

IQ tests were not developed initially to measure how smart someone were, but on the contrary to spot and identify those with learning difficulties who needed special education.
