Novi God, Nova Godina is quite important in Russia, in communism it was much more important then Christmas even, in Yugoslavia too... The Christmas tree is the nova godisnja jelka in serbian, the new years tree, now christmas is very important too with fall of communism, but consumerism, santa clause/deda mraz(grandfather frost), presents, party is new years, and christmas is more religious truly and traditional, in the west christmas is consumerism, coca cola santa clause, and presents and only stuffing yourself with lots of food, only little truly religious, in russia and serbia it is new years..... God Bless my Russian comrades and give them a happy new year
