I am not very familiar with the social structure of North Africans who are in high numbers in the mentioned countries. My knowledge of the subject is limited to Iranians. But I do know that the refugee population is always the lowest tier of the society they come from. EU has been seriously stupid in choosing its migrants, I wrote on this subject in another thread.

Actually, Germany and Sweden have far more Turks, Syrians, Iraqis, Afghans and, yes, Iranians than North Africans. And the point about refugees (as opposed to economic migrants, who usually are indeed invited in) is that the recipient countries don't 'choose' them, precisely because they are fleeing home.

Persians in Sweden have a reputation for being highly educated actually. Probably not Kurds and Arabs, though. Maybe it's a little unfair, because there are quite a few Arabs who work as dentists and doctors f.e.

Well OK, but there is definitely a substantial MENA underclass in Sweden (including doubtless some Persians). It has got so bad that Sweden is the only country in the world besides Mexico where the police routinely record grenade attacks!

France and Spain are full of North Africans. And yes recipient country has absolute power over who they receive and who they do not. They can simply refuse the entry of illegal refugees but they can not do so because this has something to do with their faulty economic model. Different subject but check this list by service sector economies.

A Turkish or Iranian "refugee" is hilarious to even hear. They both have GDPs almost reaching a Trillion USD each, the Iranian one is without any debt.

Those with an educated lifestyle are not the ones who will give everything up to live as ‘refugees’ or seek low-class work in Europe. Of course it is a given if you let everyone in you will mostly get the type of people who have nothing to lose, they tend to be more isolated and religious. I think people who actually need help have been outnumbered by those taking advantage of lax immigration policies. Weak “tolerance” became a failure to nip the rose at the bud. If you put a bunch of angry people next to each other they will be angry, together, no matter how intense the schools are (at home) or how highly valued education is (at home). There is a cultural difference “(at home)” vs those who have left, I felt even in France I had barely anything in common with French of Arab descent there, even of Syrian descent, it made me sad actually. Instead of fixing our extreme elitism it has been turned on its head into underachievement by our counterparts.

I get what you are saying, but 'refugees' don't just mean people fleeing war or extreme hunger and poverty. I agree that Turkey and Iran are a lot more prosperous than many people think, but at the same time both governments do persecute political (and to an extent religious) dissidents, so at least some refugees from those countries must be genuine.

You reap what you sow. Sweden had a dumb migration policy (I wonder why?), and now they are suffering. Instead of importing highly educated technocratic migrants, they let everyone in without any criteria and started gifting out citizenships.

@Oghuz and Sacha: as interesting as the discussion is, I don't want to have yet another thread about immigration. There are plenty of other threads on this forum to discuss it.
