The Brazilian metropolis is an exciting city full of contrasts - and this also applies to the trams. The historic Santa Teresa tram is the oldest electric train in South America and a real highlight for technology nostalgics. It connects the center with the artistic district of Santa Teresa on an impressive route. The Corcovado rack railway takes you up to the statue of Christ the redeemer and the modern light rail VLT Carioca has been in service in the city center since 2016.
