I don't live in anything like South Africa but I carry pepper spray (parts of America are lame when it comes to gun laws) because I was thinking recently altercations (muggings, assaults, etc.) are rarely one-on-one and criminals are often armed with a weapon. So what does it matter if I can grapple someone to the ground and control the dude if he has a knife? I can be potentially stabbed, or if he has accomplices my entire attention is on just that dude, while the others can jump me and help out their buddy. I can leg kick an attacker but if they're armed with a knife they can just slash at my legs and if they have accomplices they can rush me.

So I said to myself I'll just buy pepper spray since it's a legal option for me.

Yes we have to be very cautious, even in public in broad daylight we might suddenly be surrounded by blacks with knives.

Now there are robberies at traffic lights in broad daylight
    That's wild.

My acquaintance has lived in the US for years and never had a problem but having grown up and lived in South Africa it has given him PTSD it seems.

Are there any security or body guard services that white tourists or nationals can hire, would this be a common practice ?

He should have teamed up with Botha, Coetzee, and Sanders. They could be the Fantastic Four of kicking Mau Maus and taking names while chewing big wads of Bubblicious.

When was your red-pill moment (mine was at 16)? You realized that they treated you like a mushroom as they kept you in the dark and fed you s_it in Plato's Cave.

In their primes one on one no weapons those guys for sure would have kicked a lot of Mau Butt.

Botha was tough in the 90's on a 40 fight win streak untill things went south for much of the rest of his career.

They're their own worst enemies. Just look at Morrison, another bad Southerner, who was the best White heavyweight of his day. By the way, the Mau Maus were from Kenya, but the analogy works. It's a term for racist and violent Black bullies and can be used as a verb.

Yes, now there are 10-year-old robbers with guns, would you hesitate to defend yourself?
They certainly would not hesitate to waste you for a few bills, which buys them a rock of crack.
They are already hopelessly addicted child soldiers.
Legalising drugs will not change this, only make more of them.

Our first dangerous experience was when we were home alone in South Africa for a few hours at night, we were 13,
and a black man entered our property. He seemed to be a prowler, scouting around.
We confronted him with firearms and he ran away.

The second time was the next year, when 2 black men armed with some blades and crowbars entered our property at night.

We were in the living room and we grabbed the 2 loaded pistols that were in a kitchen drawer.
Luckily they were not in some gun safe.
Again we confronted them with firearms, but they refused to leave the property,
and then they split up; one stayed put while the other started walking around the house.

They know that in South Africa, you are only allowed to shoot someone inside your house, not inside your garden.
    They called our bluff.

We called their bluff (and we did not know the law), my stepbrother shot the one who went around, one shot only, wounding him.
And this would not be the last time that we wounded someone in South Africa!

Both of them fled at that point. Police were not called and never arrived. Probably the 7.65mm gunshot was not loud enough?
    Everything happened so quickly.

Our house was a 1960s modern house in a nice area,
not designed as a fortress, not designed to repel intruders, not designed for the unthinkable.
The garage was at the ground level,
and there was a steep staircase up the hill to the front gate, with high concrete walls and brick walls.
Apparently they jumped over one of the brick walls or the side gate that was lower.
This house had been burgled before, but nothing was taken because there was nothing of value.
(Whenever we were out of the country, the pistols were unloaded, placed in a special box and hidden in the garden.)

    A few days later,
we installed electric fencing and barbed wire on top of the walls, and perpendicular to them, making them impossible to climb,
and another layer of electric fencing in front of the lower brick wall.
Electric fencing and barbed wire are common in South Africa.

The problem is that due to extreme mismanagement, corruption, and neglect, the city is regularly without electricity,
and this regular "load shedding" (blackouts are racist) lead to crime waves, purges, nights of the living dead.
But the wire still makes climbing difficult.

Several years later, when we were adults, someone again tried to break in by destroying the front gate.
They were unable to, and we confronted them and they fled,
and we replaced the metal bar gate with a thick, tall metal slab.

Yes South Africa is very violent and dangerous, especially the cities.

Exposure to crime, combined with personal morality and decent IQ, tends to turn someone into a right-winger.

Do you know anything about martial arts or self-defense + weapons handling?

So I was reading a lot of politics when I was in my teens, but I was intellectual about it, detached from it.

In 2005 (when I was 13, 14), I was often in the US, and Iraq was often on the news,
and I had a strong feeling that the US was not actually interested in "winning" or defeating the enemy militarily,
only occupying a prime piece of real estate indefinitely. So I was already suspicious about the US government.

And at this time, my stepbrother was playing this PC game called Deus Ex,
which is nonstop conspiracy theories, redpills, and truth bombs.

He told me the stories all the time, it was fascinating, so I was already conspiracy-minded.
After all, history itself is a succession of conspiracies.

Not long after, I watched documentaries on Operation Gladio in Italy during the Cold War,
where many terrorist attacks supposedly committed by terrorists turned out to be false flags connected with NATO.
After that I learned about similar incidents in Turkey, West Germany, Belgium.

And I read about the Oklahoma City bombing and Andy "The German" Strassmeir, who appeared to be a NATO asset.
So I was already familiar with the idea of false flags by the US.

Likewise I read about the Safari Club,
where many intelligence agencies such as the US, Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc secretly work together.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safari_Club

Around 2007 or 2008, I was 16-17, before Obama, I became convinced that the US government allowed 9/11 to happen,
due to reading about military programs such as Able Danger, not to mention the many convenient "intelligence failures."
    https://web.archive.org/web/20070915...d_lawyers.html

And the short logical next step was that the US intelligence agencies ARRANGED for 9/11 to happen.

I assumed that the US contracted the Saudis for a false flag, and the Saudis contracted Al Qaeda, or a faction of it.
And Israel was involved somehow as well. This was a large-scale arranged suicide bombing, nothing more.

And this was before the lame coverup and omissions of the 9/11 Commission,
or the more recent revelations that the US knew about and allowed Saudi intelligence to work with hijackers on US soil,
and that at least a few hijackers appeared to be FBI informants.

So this was a bitter red pill to swallow, knowledge of an evil state attacking its OWN people.
After this, I could never trust the US again, or any US-aligned country.

Obviously, the US is totally corrupt and compromised and is incapable and unwilling to protect its own people.
Indeed, the US will cause harm to its own people for some insidious political agenda.

The US has deliberately shredded its own constitution, and is becoming a totalitarian state.

    What was your redpill?

Feels like reading the future of the West unfortunately, except people have no guns and not mentally ready to defend themselves...outside of the deep countryside (lots of riffles). Had a glimpse, and some acquantainces too already.

I would ask more questions but almost feel bad for doing so, as you make so long and detailed posts (that's awesome). What kind of home do you like? Architecturally speaking, how would it look like if you were building/buying one for yourself right now.
