I can't imagine some Brit, German, Scandinavian etc. who is so fascinated with Serbs like him.
Existed one, but he was Swiss German not mainstream German https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archibald_Reiss
Count any volunteer who came to fight on Serbian side during wars of 90s (no matter the nationality). To love and sympathize Serbia and to die for it or lose health, limbs is another level.

He is not partly Serbian, but pure French. He can pass as Serb, my uncle (father's brother) was similar as him when he was of his age.

I would say France, too. As it is mentioned, landscapes, pigmentation, also relaxed way of life, but also historical allie in WW1 and WW2.

In centre of Belgrade there is a Monument of Gratitude to France where is written - "We love France as France loved us 1914-1918".
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monume...tude_to_France

During NATO bombing of our country in 1999, in which France took its part, monument was covered with a black cloth with written message - "Eternal glory to the France that doesn't exist anymore"

Volunteers on Serbian side in 90s, by their numbers, were from Russia and Greece, then Romania and Ukraine, several from Poland, and we even had a Japanase..

I know, in 2000s I communicated a lot with people who fought on Serbian side, generally all volunteers were included in Russian formations as most numerous ones, having like 80% of Russians and 20% of everyone else.

The Japanese guy was a Korean irl who came to Belgrade for some business, didn't have success and decided to have another level of fun As I remember he was fighting together with Russians and Chetnik formation of Slavko Aleksic at Grbavica in Sarajevo.

This Zack Novkovic, Serbian from New York has Energizer battery in him and now fights in Donbass.

Only heard about him from those who were there plus in Russian memories from Bosnia under the title "Where did the guy get the Serbian sadness?"

"Watching TV footage of Duke Slavko Aleksić's Chetniks, who reminded him of samurai because of their beards, Jon Von Lu, as a journalist, came to Republika Srpska to record a report about them.

Having arrived, he decided to stay and voluntarily join the Army of Republika Srpska. He was originally assigned to Dobrinja, but later transferred to the 3rd Russian Volunteer Detachment"
