45 not all that old. I had my twin sons in my early 40s and I managed to survive long enough to raise them to manhood.

You worry about this stuff to much and need a hobby off the internet. You like southern generals and things of that era so I think you would make a good civil war reenactor and a way to make new friends.

You are just about a year older than me so I have entered middle age myself. When I was about 36, I noticed some white hairs in my beard stubble. I asked someone if I should be concerned, and I was told, those were grey hairs and they were normal. Mid-thirties is a normal time to start going grey. The head hairs started showing up around 39. It took me a little bit to get my mind around it. I wonder how much this realization about aging is a component of a "mid-life crisis".

People are in decline by forty. It may get more "dramatic" later, but looks are still going down.
