I had the same dreams when I was around your age. I had to go back to high school for some reason, and the other students looked like they were in eighth grade, which made it more embarrassing. I also still have semi-nightmares where I didn't study for a test, haven't started work on a term paper that was due in hours (likely based on my real life; hee), and skipped classes for the whole quarter and report cards are due. I read that my dreams and your dream show that we don't think that we're where we should be in our lives (if you believe in dream analysis, which I got into when I had constant nightmares about alligators and bears during a stressful time).

no recurring dreams, the only recurring thing is that in general I am in a city or village that feels somewhat uncomfortable, though it's nothing horror, but there's a subtle unsettling feeling about it. and I don't know if I ever dream daylight, it's usually night or anyway not daylight. also I don't dream supernatural things, like flying or monsters, just usual stuff set in a slightly awkward place at night

Holy shit! I used to have the same dream all over again like a year ago. I used to dream that I got a call from the principal of my former high school that for some reason my high school diploma is invalid because I cheated in the exam. For that reason I need to go back to school as an adult into my sisters class where everyone is around 10 years younger than me.
I got tired of those dreams and that’s when I decided to go to a psychologist. Probs to her, she found the underlying reason for my recurring nightmares. It was because I was unhappy in my current city and she advices me to move out. I followed her advice and I didn’t dream of school since.

Highly unleasant dream and I had it few times, feeling very disstressed after waking.

I think it is often sign we are afraid of illness or we are not in best health period.

I keep dreaming that my late husband faked his death and is coming to fetch me from my current husband.

    It brings up many emotions:

    • angry with him because he faked his death and put me through a hell of grief
    • angry with his side of the family because they were complicit
    • scared because I'd have to choose between two people I love, not wanting to disappoint either one
    • guilty that I lean towards choosing my current husband
    • guilty for thinking that I don't/didn't love my late husband enough

I also have the teeth falling out dream. I spit out hundreds and hundreds of teeth. The supply of teeth never ends.

Same for me, starting yet another year of trying to finish high school

Haven't had that or other anxiety dreams much in recent years though. The other most common one I had a lot in the past was driving and losing control, the steering not working.

Most common one now is probably waking up in a panic thinking I'm choking or swallowed something bad.

In 2010-11 I had this dream multiple times so I remember it. I found myself in my old university which I just had finished, driving my car in the residential block which was kind of deserted with empty houses. There was a female voice/presence in the passenger seat who I just never turn towards because I feel familiar with her or I know she is there like "usual", it was not the voice or speech style of my girlfriend at that time or any girl I knew. So we first either stop at or may be suddenly find ourselves inside a professor's house (he just had passed away recently in reality). I tell him of my ideas, and work in progress on his whiteboard. He is wearing his signature Coppula. His house's interior has antique wooden work, classy curtains, kinda like the family home I grew up in, I pick up few books. Suddenly we are back in the car and now the surroundings are no longer like university roads but have changed to a rocky construction zone. At the end of the road there is a jump ramp and the girl says I should accelerate and jump to the other side where I see some people at either standing or walking, we land where the people are and I take a right. Dream ends.

My life has changed completely from those days, last 14-15 years have been ... eventful, but this recurring dream stayed with me. The female presence was my brain talking back to me but her behavior or choices were opposite of what I would do in reality.

I have that too except in my case it isn't the steering wheel, it's the brakes. I'm always about to crash into the back of another car.
