    City of Yash takes its name from its founders, an Iranic tribe related to today's Ossetians.

    it was Moldova's capital for 300 years, following Suceava, which was the capital of Moldova for almost 200 years.

    today the city proper has 300k inhabitants and the metropolitan area has 600k, after great suburban development over the past 12 years.
