Sure this is just an online test, but they do ask questions which are similar to the more "official" IQ tests out there. Surely this is enough to give us an idea of what his "true IQ" might be. I am not taking away anything from Nakamura, who is great, I'm only showing the flaw in the argument that success in chess implies high IQ.

I read ashkenazi jews have a high verbal IQ like 125, and average non verbal IQ

That high figure is just from one Yeshiva study by Boris M. Levinson.

Levinson found a median verbal IQ of 125.6, median performance IQ of IQ of 103.3, and median full scale IQ of 117.86 among a limited Yeshiva sample that is likely not representative of Ashkenazi Jews in the West overall. Backman studying 1236 Jewish American high school students in 1972 found a verbal score of 107.8. Lynn estimated a 7.5 point verbal IQ advantage of American Jews over non-Jewish Whites overall based on WORDSUM vocabulary test on the American General Social Survey (GSS). Any possible difference with performance in verbal subtests between representative samples of Jews and non-Jewish whites is fairly moderate rather than drastic. Not enough to make their median FSIQ for comprehensive IQ tests like the WAIS higher than Northeast Asians given other subtests being generally lower.

It's not debunked. The guy Leather Apron Club or whatever he calls himself consistenly gets things wrong.



As Bronski points out even with a higher average IQ Ashkenazi Jews are overrepresented than they should be with such a higher average IQ.

It can both be true that they have a higher average IQ AND there is ethnic nepotism.
