Nowadays the true East would just be Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Then again what societies have contributed most towards European culture? the British, Dutch, French, Germans, Italians and Spanish without a doubt. Italians brought the Renaissance, Germans left a huge cultural mark all over what is known as Central Europe, without the Spanish we wouldn't have potatoes, chocolate etc and without the Dutch capitalism would've never flourished the way it did. Maybe, but they certainly didn't develop it as it is known today as the Italians were never within the fight for the Caribbean and the Americas. The Dutch were the first to implement mercantilism as a global political economic hegemon having monopoly over other states. Rather than just collecting resources from the colonized lands and bringing it home as the Portuguese and Spanish did, we did it with the intention of selling it afterwards to other colonial superpowers at that time.

The real Europe is the one where the EEF does not exceed 40%. This is not a joke. Western and southern Europe should be united with North Africa and Western Asia. Genetically and culturally, it is one continent and one people. Eastern Slavic Europe and northern Scandinavian Europe are the only places where people have retained the greatest similarity with their Indo-European ancestors.
