Nothing in my honest opinion lol. I think more and more people should give up gifts in all honesty. All the years I have people nice and thoughtful gifts only to end up being ghosted or dumped by them and typically never get a thank you or anything ever for the damn fucking gift...gifts really do not improve your relationship with others even for friends and it won't mean anything to them unless they see you as higher or equal status to them. It's best to improve your connections to friends through actions as much as possible.

I'm sorry you been through that Calxpal, I love gifts and If people were not nice enough to say thank you than clearly are not friends.

I carefully select the people I socialized. The gifts my girlfriends have gave me I say thank you and kiss them gently In the cheeks.

I wouldn't count on it. I've been given terrible perfume before and pretended I liked it. You can't tell the giver that you don't like their gift.

Yeah, maybe it's just me who is difficult. I'm very particular about perfume and jewelry. My husband knows by now already to stay away from perfume and jewelry because he will probably buy the wrong thing.

My sister-in-law bought the vilest perfume in the world a couple years ago, along with similar-scented body lotion. Believe me, I tried hard to like it. Very hard. I ended up giving it away at work. She also bought my husband some perfume. It smells like a reed mat, which is great if you want to smell like a reed mat but not otherwise. Hubby doesn't like and I don't like him smelling like a reed mat either but he keeps it just because it was a gift. I offered to sell it for him but he refuses. Why hang onto something you hate just because it was a gift. I'm sure there are gentlemen out there who'd love to smell like a reed mat.
