it's different tastes based on multiple factors: rural vs urban and then within urban it's working class vs middle class vs upper class girls.
but indeed while they are very young they sometimes go for the macho guy disrespect of his social class and I've seen such guys (sometimes not even tough, just posers) dating way upper class than them, point in which they usually try to make her pregnant in order to keep her. my former girlfriend, upper class (both her parents are doctors, her dad is a hospital manager), dated this jobless guy 12 years older than her (she was 18 when they started dating), because he was cool and smoke weed and had artistic interests (though I saw him as very limited intellectually, just a poser/hipster) and he got her pregnant, as expected, now they have two kids, he still doesn't have a job but they seem happy/ok/not less happy than any other random couple. I couldn't do this no matter how bad I wanted to keep the girl, but for some it works. I see it as low behaviour. many girls my age (mid to late 30s) have one such kid from a failed relationship or a kid they had very young because the guy thought he'll keep her this way. now it's full of these girls on Facebook Dating and many of them are very pretty but then most men won't stay in a longer relationship with them because of the kid. most of my friends and acquaintances (and my wife's as well) are single deep into 30s and my guys refuse to date these girls with kids from previous relationships, but on top of this they refuse to date my wife's friends as well, based on looks or on age (a bit ridiculous when a 38-40 yo guy says a 33-35-38 yo girl is too old for him). so they usually just don't date, it's full of such single people of both sexes in the cities
