Surely would be a very good idea, seeing how they make one much less likely to be at a risk of direct military invasion, but outside of NATO Nuclear Sharing programme Poland is unlikely to acquire nuclear weapons in the near future on its own in the current system.

True. One important thing to consider is that nukes may serve as a deterrent to being attacked with nukes yourself. On the other hand not that many states posses nuclear weapons nowadays, but Poland having them could be seen as a strengthening of the whole eastern flank of NATO, if - for example - the USA will get involved in a war with China.
Of course I hope no war between NATO and Russia will be fought.
