Except miracles of Saint Arsenios in the book is described life of Greek enclave around Kayseri (sorrounded by Turks) in the last years of their presence in their homeland before they moved to Greece in 1920s. The most important Greek village in Kayseri area was Pharasa. Turks wanted to destroy that Greek enclave, but Saint Arsenios with his miracles preserved own people. It is written that Saint Arsenios was blonde with blues eyes as young man.

How are they received by the rest of the Greek population? I heard when they first arrived in Mainland Greece they were made fun of by people, calling them Turks and stuff.

What you say happened 100 years ago. Our grandparents have all passed away now.

France and Italy are well known examples that were already mentioned, and Russia, with its diverse population is also a good example (note that the question is about countries not main nations inhabiting them).
Greece is only diverse that much because it got Greek refugees from Anatolia, the Greece's Greeks do not differ as much.

However nowadays I'm pretty sure among the most genetically diverse is also Sweden, when looking at its current population, and soon many more countries will become also as diverse.

Is Cappadocian Greek still spoken among them? Pontic Greek is still spoken in some parts of the Eastern Black Sea Region.
