Didn't know Vladivostok had such poor climate. But even without knowing that, Russian far east was always extremely unappealing to me. Also region around St.Petersburg, would never live there.

Yea, it's quite shity. Monsoon influenced continental climate, such think exist only in East Asia.

I should have stipulated that I wasn't including NZ, as it is quite atypical and different to most other PIs. Think instead about Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands etc.

Oh OK. But NZ does look very appealing to me: beautiful landscape, friendly people, not too hot like Australia, good at rugby, interesting blend of British and Maori cultures, a very high trust and law-abiding society...

Pacific islands are beautiful - perhaps Hawaii or French Polynesia may be nice to live that said Im not sure about the idea of
being restricted to an island I need room to move.

European Russia could be nice. but may take a lot of adapting as a foreigner. would be easier if one married a Russian wife
and that way gradually blended into the lifestyle. Otherwise it might be quite alienating trying to get by as a Foreigner but I suspect
average Russian people could be friendly and warm if they see you are respectful and making an effort and not a trouble maker.

I work with some consultants from there and they say it is extremely beautiful.
