Default Cuba Has a Higher Life Expectancy Than the US.

In the latest statistic, Cuba has a higher life expectancy than the US.

    Why?

Just because of fast food and no universal healthcare?

The US is far more developed country than Cuba.

And no drugs. Way less mental illnesses too.

As oppressive as the Cuban regime doubtless is, all the same the country overachieves in health, education and sport relative to how lousy the salaries and living conditions are.

Standard communism set though. Ussr, Yugoslavia, China etc. Health system is the key for modern life expectancy, as todays biggest LE factor is cancer rates/cancer treatment.

Also living on an island, less stress, fewer car accidents, etc

Islands in general have higher life expectancy than their mainland peers.

USA has more fat people. A poor man can live until he's 90 and a person can be wealthy but die at 60. I don't see anything weird here.

For life expectency it seems the curves intersect two times. Once when the wealth is getting relatively too high on average and creates new problems that lowers life expectancy (food, stress,...). Then the wealth goes to another even higher level, it does increases life expectancy again. Probably because at this point people are using wealth in a different way and are intelligent enough/have the means to resist all the negative effects of the developped world even within urbanization.

With COVID-19, life expectancy took a hit around the world, but it started to climb up again after COVID.

Surely that depends on what replaces it and how the economy progresses?

A EEUU ni de turista iría
