How much of Spanish DNA In Mexico Is North and South? . Basque surnames In Northern states are common but I think not much Basque ancestry In mexicans.

Most of the Spanish DNA in Mexico comes from Andalus (south) and to an extent central Spain.

So the Basque surnames In some mexicans it's not an indicator of having real Basque ancestry for example? Since you are here what about DR? Is It mostly South too?

Basque yes, but I think is not that significant. Or am I wrong?
Do you have a historic Spanish Empire census to see how many basque flooded into Mexico?

Well I'm more Interested In genetic studies kinda argetano type. From what I remembered throughout the years Southern Spaniards made like 60% Of Spanish immigration to Mexico and 30% Central and 10% North.

It's not a 100% certain indicator as well as an african american with the name Johnson doesn't mean he got an english ancestor.

Yeah but you don't know if their names really come from that ancestor, especially since most of that ancestry comes through rape.
