This is what I was asking, thank you very much for finally answering.

Obviously babies or children or retarded people do not have the capacity for choosing, I never asked that.

So then you would allow a baby, child, or "incompetent" adult with a terminal illness to suffer and die?
Since they cannot choose and you cannot decide for them?

So why do you have a special privilege (a painless death without opiates) and they do not?
    Playing devil's advocate here

This is nonsense - the soul doesn't belong to govt.
Every human has the right to live naturally till its last breath to see, hear, feel the world- this is govt over reach whats the next "progressive" step.

Its not this issue per se, but what comes after that. Fringe lunatics posessed by Demons want to control everything.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph. 6:12

Definition of untrustworthy and loose character are those that don't believe in God.

I fully appreciate the plight of those who are dying and those who are in pain and would request (and deserve) relief from their suffering. I would definitely be able to perform euthanasia, as an act of compassion, not murderous rage. I work with the dying and am all too aware of the suffering and loss of dignity at the end of life and would be honoured to be part of a process which could relieve the suffering. I mean, I already administer increasingly larger doses of morphine to hasten death when suffering becomes unbearable (which is legal). Administering a lethal drug that would cause immediate death in a single dose is something I would do and is not much different from what I am doing already, which is a more drawn-out process that can take hours or even days.

The problem for me lies not in euthanasia itself but legislation. Once it is approved, there is a downward spiral as the scope for eligibility broadens and broadens. That is what concerns me. What starts off as something seemingly harmless has the potential to devolve (and inevitably does) into a situation with disastrous consequences.
